The Voyage Data Recorder is Furuno’s IMO compliant, safety equipment for recording all crucial data to identify the cause of merchant maritime casualty, as well as contribute to the future prevention of a catastrophe of any kind.  

The tamperproof and robust system collects data from all interfaced sensors on board the vessel and stores it externally, so that in the event of an accident, once the unit is recovered investigators can determine the cause of the accident.
