Broadband Satellite Services Limited (BSS), the parent company of Satcom Global, is an investment company based in the North East of England focused on the provision of satellite communication and telecommunications solutions to customers in areas where other communications networks are unreliable or non-existent.
BSS was formed in 2012 following the management buyout of AND Group, led by group CEO, Ian Robinson and group CFO, Robert Howes. The subsequent acquisition of Satcom Group, one of the world’s largest mobile satellite communications providers, elevated BSS to where it is today, owning and operating companies and subsidiaries in 5 continents.
Both Ian Robinson and Robert Howes have extensive experience in managing merger and acquisition, and in 2015 the board was strengthened with two further members. Michael Butler, former Chief Operating Officer of Inmarsat and current board member at Thuraya, joined BSS as Non-Executive Chairman, along with Matt Widdall from investment firm BGF who joined as Non-Executive Director.
BSS is actively looking for acquisitions as the company continues to grow, and are interested in hearing from companies in the sector who are looking to sell their business or raise investment.
