Rowan Drilling: Rowan Gorilla VI Integrated Fire & Gas Detection Project

Alongside the PA/GA system design project for the Rowan Gorilla VI, Satcom Global (formerly AND Group) also undertook a fire and gas detection project on the Rowan Drilling platform in the Netherlands.

Running from 2012 to 2014, the project involved the design, supply and commissioning of an integrated fire and gas detection system with dedicated HMI (Human Machine Interface). The chosen system for the project was the industry renowned AutroSafe 4 from Autronica Fire and Security complete with AutroMaster integrated safety and emergency managment system - together providing the ultimate monitoring and management of potential hazards on the platform.

The system was engineered to meet DNV and NORSOK requirements with a project value of over £300,000.
