Satcom Global is delighted to announce the expansion of our Smartphone to Satphone portfolio with the release of two new BYOD (bring your own device) products from Thuraya. The Thuraya SatSleeve Hotspot and the Thuraya SatSleeve+ transform your Apple or Android smartphone into a satellite phone and are available to buy from Tuesday 15th September 2015.
The portable and compact SatSleeve Hotspot is an easy to use satellite solution, ideal for those seeking the flexibility of using their Apple or Android smartphone independently from their satellite device with the new option to route audio through individual handsets. With the option of satellite connectivity over a Wi-Fi connection through the new Thuraya SatSleeve Hotspot application, the unit allows you access all the features and benefits of a smartphone anywhere in the world. Now you can use your personal device to connect to Wi-Fi and access SMS, email, messaging, social media and basic web browsing services over satellite connection.
Building on the proven technology and concept of the original SatSleeve, the new sleek compact design of the Thuraya SatSleeve+ allows users to access a satellite connection by simply docking their smartphone into the Satsleeve and connecting over Wi-Fi. Bringing enhanced voice quality with audio routing through the user’s smartphone, the device can now also be used with any smartphone with a width of 58-85mm when coupled with the universal adaptor. Now a wide variety of users from explorers to NGO workers can access voice, SMS, email, messaging, social media and basic web browsing services from remote locations across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
The latest innovations from Thuraya have been designed to offer flexible and easy to use alternatives for portable and plug and play satellite communications for those on-the-go in remote locations.
