Thuraya Updates Maritime Broadband Portfolio

Thuraya has announced enhancements to its Maritime Broadband (MBB) portfolio of plans.

New 75MB Plans

From 1st April 2015, Thuraya is introducing a range of 75MB plans aimed to fill the current gap in the market for users with small to medium data requirements.

Updated VSAT Back-up Plans

Thuraya has also announced changes to its range of VSAT back-up plans as of 1st April 2015. These plans provide an excellent value solution as a back-up for vessels using VSAT as their primary source of communications – costing approximately half the cost of the regular Thuraya MBB plans.

The updated plans will provide greater flexibility to users by offering;

  • Introduction of single SIM subscriptions
  • Increased ‘fair usage policy’ on higher price plans
  • 3 month period for airtime allowance to be consumed
  • Shorter 12 month minimum commitment periods

A summary of the updated plans are included below:

The MBB VSAT back-up plans can be used with the Orion IP terminal, and soon with the Atlas IP terminal.  Please note that these plans are only available as a back-up to VSAT, and checks will be made to ensure this is the case.
