We are delighted to announce that the Thuraya Atlas IP maritime communications terminal is now available at Satcom Global following the commercial launch last week.
Specifically designed to deliver added value to end-users seeking enhanced connectivity whilst at sea, the Thuraya Atlas IP is easy to install, and drives operational efficiency. The latest maritime terminal supports voice and broadband IP data connectivity at speeds of up to 444kbps, joining the Orion IP terminal delivering the Thuraya Maritime Broadband (MBB) service.
Thuraya’s Atlas IP will offer end users a range of benefits that includes seamless access to the internet for managers and crew, enhanced connectivity, and high-speed onboard efficiency with best in class data rates. Atlas IP also unlocks greater operational efficiency, and ships can now be transformed into remote offices for low cost and very little effort. Easy to install though a single cable connection to the stabilized antenna, direct bulkhead mounting, and built-in Wi-Fi, the Atlas IP creates a reliable and efficient data connection point making it easy to manage and reduce operational running costs.
To ensure this latest development from Thuraya lives up to its promise of being a ‘lifeline’ to the maritime sector, the Atlas IP has undergone a rigorous testing, qualification and certification program to ensure the satellite communications hardware withstands a variety of harsh and extreme marine environments in multiple regions.
