Obsolete Fire and Gas Detection Systems
In 2016, Autronica issued ‘end of life’ notices for a number of fire and gas detection systems including AutroSafe 3 and the older analogue BS-100 system. Following a phased discontinuation period, it was confirmed that the widely deployed systems would cease to be supported with replacement parts and associated equipment going forward.
Understandably, many companies continue to use the popular AutroSafe 3 and BS-100 systems for their Fire and Gas Detection today as they continue to perform well. However, we would like to remind customers that as the system and detector heads are no longer manufactured or supported by Autronica, it will not always be possible to complete a system fix or replace important working parts in the event of a problem or system failure.
To ensure ongoing service continuity and safety, we would highly recommend existing users of the obsolete systems undertake an upgrade to a new interactive fire safety system, such as AutroSafe 4. Our system integration and engineering teams specialise in the retrofitting of existing systems; where possible using existing cabling, limiting disruption and cost to the site or vessel, but updating all panels and detectors to the latest models. Our knowledgeable engineers work with customers from beginning to end, to survey the vessel or site and provide consultative advice on the system design, as well as completing the installation and commissioning.
