Hurricane season is now well underway and while there have been no major incidents as yet it is essential to be prepared for when the next big one hits.
With both the Eastern Pacific and Atlantic seasons running until November 30th, you need to consider your best options for keeping your family and friends safe and your business up and running should any extreme weather hit during this time.
At Satcom Global we’d encourage everyone living and working within regions affected by hurricanes to prepare ahead and consider making a hurricane plan.
Preparing basic essentials such as food, water and first aid kits must of course be included in this plan, but consideration also needs to be given to how you would communicate during an emergency situation or in the aftermath of a hurricane.

In 2005 Hurricane Katrina knocked down seven telephone lines affecting almost three million customers and Hurricane Sandy seven years later knocked out a quarter of the cell towers in the New York City area.
